Governors
What the governors do
As well as driving up the standards of achievement and attainment, every governing body has three core functions which are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The governors work strategically by asking questions of the reports and data shared at meetings and also through visits to the school to find out how agreed strategies are being embedded and making learning even better for every child.
